Channel Your Creativity on World Art Day

Did you know that April 15th is World Art Day? On this day, we celebrate the importance of the fine arts and how they’ve impacted society through the ages. The very first World Art Day was held on April 15th, 2012 as a nod to the famed artist and inventor, Leonardo da Vinci who was born on that day. The commemorative event was created by the International Association of Art (IAA/AIAP) as a way to encourage creativity worldwide.

Even if you’re not naturally artistically inclined, World Art Day is a time for everyone to appreciate fine arts and recognize how art in general can influence other areas of our lives. Take a trip to an art museum to explore creativity through the ages and see how world events helped to shape artistic eras. Or spend some time exploring your city or town to discover statues, murals, and even art installations.

Best of all, this World Art Day can be an opportunity for you to embrace your inner creativity. If you’ve always wanted to try your hand at drawing or painting, now’s the time. Just remember that creative expression isn’t limited to watercolors and charcoal. At Keshima we feel that makeup is a form of expression and can be incredibly creative.

Whether you’re going for a big, bold, “highly Instagrammable” makeup look or just want to try your hand at a smokey eye, makeup can be the ultimate form of self-expression. It doesn’t matter whether you test your abilities with luxury or drugstore brands, as long as you have fun and allow your muse to guide you. So this World Art Day, go out there and create something amazing!
